Daily Maintenance:
Sweep the floor using a regular soft bristle brush or untreated dust mop to remove dust and grit. Do not use any dust mop or cleaning rag that may have any type of cleaning residue. Wipe up spills immediately!

Weekly Maintenance:
1) Mix one pint of white vinegar to 3 gallons of lukewarm water in a five-gallon bucket.

2) Soak a towel in the vinegar/water solution then wring out any excessive liquid.

3) Lay the towel at one corner of the floor, place the head of a 2-foot push broom on the towel and fold the front edge of towel up onto broom head “wrapping the broom head.” Walk the length of the court, flip the towel to the opposite “clean” side and continue. Rinse towel and repeat process until entire floor has been cleaned. Depending upon the condition of the floor prior to cleaning, you may need to change the vinegar/water solution several times.

4) To remove black shoe heel marks, rub mark with a rag that has been soaked in mineral spirits. Gum may be removed by using a plastic scraper and rubbing the area with a rag soaked in mineral spirits.

Annual Refinishing:
Stevens Gymnasiums, Inc. can annually refinish your gym floor to maintain its appearance and performance. This process includes scraping up any stuck on debris (gum, candy, tape, etc) then vigorously screening the floor with 100 grit disking screens, chemically cleaning
the floor then applying two finish coats of MFMA approved BonaSport All Court Polyurethane. This process normally takes 2 days to complete.

Our pricing to complete this process is extremely competitive. With bulk pricing for multiple floors within a school system, etc., it may be cheaper for Stevens Gymnasiums, Inc. to annually refinish your gym floors than to have your maintenance
staff do it.

Drumsanding:
This process takes your floor down to bare wood. This is normally done every 8-10 years,
whenever you would like to update the appearance of your floor or after a repair has
been done. Most drumsand projects take about a week to complete.

Stevens Gymnasiums, Inc. can drumsand your gym floor with our state of art equipment including our Floor Mack Riding Sanders. Your floor will be triple sanded (coarse, medium & fine), chemically cleaned then two seal coats of MFMA approved polyurethane will then be applied. The floor will then be painted to your specifications including game-lines, logos and lettering. Our in-house graphics programs allow us the flexibility to provide you with artwork at incredible prices. Finally, your floor will have two finish coats of MFMA approved BonaSport All Court Polyurethane applied. This will leave your floor gleaming and looking like new!
